Landscaping in Longmont:

What Every Homeowner Should Know

Heavy Clay Soil

Longmont’s clay-rich soil compacts easily and can crack in summer or turn muddy in spring. We address this with soil building, amendment strategies, and grading decisions that support healthy roots and cleaner drainage.

Wind Exposure

Many Longmont areas see consistent Front Range winds. We design with wind in mind using plant selection, screening, and construction details that keep landscapes stable and comfortable.

Water Schedules and Efficiency

Seasonal watering limits make efficiency non-negotiable. We design irrigation and plant layouts that reduce waste while still supporting strong turf and thriving planting beds.

St. Vrain Creek Areas and Runoff

Near the St. Vrain Creek and Greenway, landscaping often needs smarter runoff planning. We can recommend planting and layout choices that handle moisture swings and protect beds from erosion.
